Camping at Guilderton

Went to Guiderton this weekend and stayed in a small caravan park at the river mouth.  This photo was taken on a dune facing the river with the caravan park on the left.  The girls each caught their first fish in the lagoon!! I will post a few photos from the wekend.

Michelle all ready to go camping at the beach. We are going camping at a place called guilderton which is about 100km north of perth.

Took a walk around kings park on saturday and the girls decided to stop and play on the statues for a while

Bibra Lake

Took Lisa and Michelle for a bike ride around Bibra lake yesterday afternoon after work, see the map.  We had a test ride on saturday by going half way around with an ice cream reward afterwards and they enjoyed that a lot so I thought id take tham again last night.   All in all they both did very well, even Michelle with the little bike we found for her on throw away day.  I ran along the winding path, which ive shown on the map, giving Michelle a little push every now and then while Lisa sped off ahead stoping to wait for us a few hundred meters down the track.   I was quite surprised to see later that we had covered 6km in a little under an hour with only minor complaining from the two cyclists .... most of which was after they found out that the ice cream truck had left before we got back .... next time maybe.

 

We also signed a years lease yesterday for a place in Leeming, the same place we are currently staying in with friends.  The friends we are staying with now have put in an offer on another house and will be moving out in about a weeks time.  We decided to take over the lease so everyting seems to have worked out well.  Next week Lisa and Michelle will be starting school a short distance from where we will be living.

Weekend in Australia

Some photos from the weekend.  Michelle playing rolly polly down the hill and looking for fairies in the forest.  Most open spaces are covered with small wild flowers (this time of the year anyhow), in a fashion similar to what you can see in the photo.  On saturday we went for a mountain bike ride along a trail and the forest was covered with plants laden with what looked like miniature orchids.
